Coronavirus

Extra measures at AEMR

UPDATE – 27/03/2020

It is with a heavy heart that we have to inform you that the closure of our wonderful site has now been extended. We cannot wait to reopen and welcome you back once we are advised by the government.

We want to thank you so much for your patience regarding updates relating to your pre booked tickets. We will provide you with more information via email regarding your options as soon as we possibly can. We are a small, family run business and thank you for helping us stay afloat and keep our staff employed during these very uncertain times.

Thank you to all of our Audley End Miniature Railway friends and family for your continued support during this time and we very much look forward to welcoming you back to experience our miniature family adventure along with our exciting new play area and bigger and better carriages – check out more on our website!

UPDATE – 17/03/2020

Following the recent update and advice from the Government, we’ve taken the tough decision of closing our site to protect the wellbeing of our staff and customers which is our absolute priority. This unfortunately means that our Mother’s Weekend and Donate a Bear Day events will no longer happen. We are aiming to re open again for our Easter Special event on Saturday 4th April unless we receive further advice from the Government.

All customers with tickets for our Mother’s Weekend and Donate a Bear Day events will be entitled to a transfer to our Easter Special from the 4th to 19th April or our Summer Festival from the 18th July to 6th September. Please email transfer@aemr.co.uk to arrange your transfer, a staff member will action this for you ASAP.

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of our Audley End Miniature Railway friends and family for your continued support over the years and we very much look forward to welcoming you back into our magical woodland setting again soon!

In the meantime, please look after yourselves and your precious family.

In accordance with recommendations from Public Health England, the NHS and the Government, we have put a series of extra measures in place at AEMR in light of the coronavirus. We have:

  • Employed extra cleaning staff – above and beyond our usual team – who are working on site, continuously wiping down touched surfaces throughout the site with pharmaceutical grade cleaning products
  • Hand sanitizer dispensers are positioned throughout the site for everyone to use
  • We have installed an additional hot water hand washing station, outside in the picnic area
  • We are taking the temperature of all our staff as they arrive each day on site and are asking anyone who feels unwell (in any way) to stay at home
  • We held a training day for all staff with specific training relating to the virus

We continue to monitor the latest advice from Public Health England, the NHS and the Government and at this present time people can continue to go to work, school and other public places, so we remain open.

Thankfully our site is open air so families can continue to enjoy a great day out making memories in the fresh air!

AEMR asks all visitors to maintain good hygiene to avoid possible infection or spread of virus. Visitors are asked to follow the below guidance:

  • Washing hands with soap and water often – do this for at least 20 seconds
  • Always wash hands when you get home or into work
  • Using hand sanitiser gels if soap and water are not available
  • Covering your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze
  • Putting used tissues in the bin straight away and wash your hands afterwards – catch it, bin it, kill it
  • Trying to avoid contact with people who are showing symptoms of Coronavirus
  • Not touching your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean

Currently we will remain open and it’s business as usual.
