Road and Rail Steam Gala 2012
Dates 12th and 13th May 2012
The Gala is one of the only Steam events which can boast two running steam railways.
Due to the success of last year’s event, the Audley End Steam Gala will be run over two days again this year .
The event harks back to the bygone era of steam. As well as being able to make the most of the 10 ¼ “ gauge Trains, which runs for 1.5 miles through estate woodland, there is also the smaller local model engineer’s railway. Adding to this there was exhibitions of tractions engines, spanning from the grand and majestic Showman’s engine to the rustic agricultural engines.
This Gala had something for everyone, fair rides , the railways for the kids, vintage motors, tractors, craft stalls, food and to top this all off a fantastic beer tent boasting real ale and cider. Whether you are a steam enthusiast, vintage car fanatic, collector or you just enjoy relaxing in the glorious countryside this was a day for everyone
